Abstract (English):
"The History of Russian Diplomacy" is a fundamental scholarly study of the extensive and complex path traversed by the Russian state in its interactions with the outside world over 12 centuries. This three-volume work, prepared by a team of authors from MGIMO University, traces the development and evolution of the Russian diplomatic service in a constantly changing international environment, demonstrating how it has reliably protected the interests of the state over the centuries, maintaining continuity and refining its unique approach. The book's protagonists are outstanding figures in Russian and Soviet diplomacy, who have always shared the ideals of patriotism, service, and professionalism. The first volume is devoted to the main stages of the history of the Russian diplomatic service from its inception to 1917, analyzing the foreign policy activities of the Ambassadorial Prikaz and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Empire. This work is a textbook for higher education institutions. It will also be of interest to a wider audience.
