The chapter introduces, defines and scrutinizes the concept of ‘international transport logistics’ from the theoretical and professional points of view, but grounded in the system of international economic relations and one of its major forms – international trade. In fact, transport logistics is a unique category servicing the international trade. First, its product – logistics service – is of non-tangible origin, but is traded worldwide embracing a wide range of services applied to the cargo under transportation. Second, the rolling stock sustaining such transportation is subject to physical deterioration adding a tangible nature to the category. Third, international cargo flows are generally channeled through the system of international transport corridors – an infrastructure of transport logistics.
