The author identifies and analyzes semiotically polycode communicative units of Internet political discourse — hashtag and post — that operate as textual, metatextual and hypertextual discourse tools. They carry out a semiotic function of meaning transmission, represent information of enhanced semantic density, and eventually denote the dominants of the current political agenda conceptual space aimed at its specific interpretation in mass consciousness. A special modus of political discourse turns speech into a purposeful social action, with the addresser trying to monopolize the function of meaning generation and instill his/her own interpretation of reality.
